Right, change the filter was my thought, too. I normally do that each year or so anyway, but 'noisy' is sort of an indication, si! Scott, thanks too. I'm planning on checking the charging system. My off the grid use, to catch the news on radio and run a couple of lights, plus keeping my devices charged, that taxes my little aux battery to right near it's limit and I don't drive but about 15 miles, most days, once I get south. I logged a lot of miles this summer using my van as both work and recreational transport. It is due to be looked at to try to minimize any backroad problems. I prefer doing this at home, having all my tools at hand and a shop with a slab, overhead lights and some heat. Way better than on the snowy roadside or out in the desert sand somewhere. But I can do (and have done) that, too.
