I recently purchased the smallest window unit available and use it in the driver's side window secured by two nylon cords with hooks for the rain gutter. I use flexible upholstery foam to fill in both sides and pad the door sill with a towel. This works well and it is needed in Florida at certain times of the year. I considered using it in the pop top window over the baggage trough but that got complicated. After much deliberation, I concluded this was the easiest, most economical and equally as effective as anything else. The only small downside is that you have to stash the unit in the rear when it is not in use. This is a minor inconvenience, all things considered. I try to avoid the mega RV sections of parks when possible and gravitate toward the spaces that cater to the smaller units and even tent sights when permissible. The few times I have been delegated to the class A section, I get what I consider enviable looks from the people in these behemoths with slide-outs, cars in tow, TV dishes, etc. I like to think they are wondering why the hell they are lugging all that weight and stuff when there sits my Westy with the two bicycles and kayaks on the little Yakima rack and roll trailer and that's it. On the other hand, they may be thinking, how the hell do they live like that? All I know is I would not trade places.
