Darn good question, HH. On really cold mornings I warm up the inside of my van with a Mr. Heater Buddy, a portable propane heater that can easily burn though a 16.4 oz cannister in a morning and a half if I dont't shut that thing down pretty quickly and haul my kerosene heater inside. The kerosene heater thing kicks off a lot of heat cost-effectively (kerosene $ vs. bottles of propane $ vs BTUs = a no-brainer). I would bring the kerosene heater indoors sooner, in the dead cold of a 13-degree (F) morning, where it not for the fact that this kerosene heater (a) takes a while to come up to temp, a fault which the propane heater does not have, and (b) stinks of kerosene until it gets hot.

Ye Propexe looks to be a mighty fine unit. But spendy, too. So I, along with Harry, seek ye cheape yet efficient unit. -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore.
