Alain, Generally a letter after a part number is the way Volkswagen used to identify a part that has been updated in some manner. In other words part number 123 456 789 "A" is earlier than 123 456 789 "B", all other things being the same. So your part number 025 906 302 "A" was made after 025 906 302, with a change, addition, or improvement to 025 906 302. Most manufactures break down their part numbers for ID purposes. In Volkswagen/Audi"s case, the first three numbers indicate the model "025" Vanagon...."906" an electrical system part,.... the third numbers are the part id number, and a letter indicating a later version of the part, as I said. A Bug part number for example would start with "111" for a standard Type I, and "113" for a Super Beetle, A Karrman Ghia is a "115", etc, and so on. In the case of say in interior part, or a part where it is colored, the part number is followed by the color code, 123 456 789 OTC for "black" as an example. A good Volkswagen parts man can read the part number and tell almost everything about it. Howard
