FYI

Middle digit 906 is in the electrical section, but is more specifically Fuel Injection Electronics. 133 is specifically Mechanical Fuel Injection items.

A more accurate prefix list for models:

There have been rare instances when:

1. VW would supersede a later suffix back to an earlier one or drop it altogether.

2. VW would actually modify a part but not supersede to a newer number and/or add a suffix. A good example is the Brake/Clutch Pedal Pad 311 721 173 A. Earlier versions were the more well-known rounded rectangular version. In the late 70s, it was replaced with wedge-shaped version with the horizontal ridge lines commonly seen on Vanagons.

There have been many instances where I have found several VW Mexico numbers are identical to the German/USA counterpart. Example is the Bus 76-79 & Vanagon Interior Light Mexico BAA 947 105 is the same as German/USA 823 947 105 B.
