Subject: New electronics upgrades (was 12v wireless speakers)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi All,

So, I thought i'd share my latest upgrades to the van.

For the speakers I went with:

http://www.theoontz.com/oontzangle.php

This speaker fits right in front of the dash just between the two heater vents. It's got non-slip pads so it doesn't move and the height is just perfect for listening.

It's bluetooth and has a audio in. Price was right, it sounds great for the money.

We'll see if there's any issues with running defrost settings and having the speaker sit there.

I also upgraded to a Nook HD+ for OBDII/GPS/music. I found a cheap one with a 9" screen. The newer Nook's have bluetooth so it's perfect.

Google maps now has a option to save maps for offline purposes.

Finally I bought a Dual GPS: http://gps.dualav.com/explore-by-product/xgps150a/

It also comes with a non-stick pad and sits on the dash to the right of the stock stereo with a clear view through the windshield. It comes with bluetooth too, and locks onto satellites so much more quickly then my phone does. Also, most phones have a cell-assist GPS and if you get out of cell coverages areas the phone's GPS won't work either. Problem solved!

Thanks for reading!

Cheers, Harry
