"An air fan in you van is noisier."

Hardly a recommendation. I find the little 12V fan in my van to be VERY noisy. And it's the quietest I could find. I have resigned myself to the fact that most folk are far less sensitive to noise than I am.

Suit yourself, run the generator, and ignore the noise. That's not what I camp for. BUT -- CYOC (camp your own camp).
