Not a risk I would take! The first time it went 50K, it might have gone
250,000 had it been machined. That's a lot of work even with air tools, not
to mention all the "Rube Goldberg",  machine work, to hang on an "IFFY".
That is $40.00 at local machine shops, so what do you save? Don't want to
pull the valve components, why not? Good time to clean the seats up, and
inspect everything. And machine them if needed.
 Now I love working on Volkswagens, of all type's, but I hate to do a job
"over again" for what ever reason not to mention, if its customer pay, he
doesn't pay for #2 roll of the dice. But I'm not making any condemnation,
just an observation!
The risk here dose not match the benefits. Kind of like taking a shower with
a rain coat on!
