I disagree entirely. If I am ordering the glass myself and taking it to them, then I am in control and thus assume the responsibility. I choose the vendor, I place the order, I select among shipping options, and I can choose to insure the shipment. If one of the windows is broken during removal or reinstallation, in their shop, they are choosing the vendor, placing the order, making shipping arrangements, etc. Ultimately, if it gets broken during shipment, it's either the fault if the vendor who crated it poorly or the shipping company negligently handling it.

I'm toying with the possibility of trying it myself. At least that way, if it gets broken, I've only got myself to blame.
