Alistair, Wonderful images. The rear doors truly tell a story of a vehicle well travelled.  It was at West Berlin, Check Point Charlie and East Berlin.  When you have another opportunity, take some more images of the interior driver/passenger area and the wonderful interior slat wood finish.    Cheers! The interior is quite nicely done, can i draw your attention to what look like a miniature fold down bunk on the wall. http://shufti.wordpress.com/2013/11/27/mercedes-benz-l-319d/ alistair
