        Sometimes lurking here pays off!  I have also noticed a rubbing sound from my steering wheel rubbing the plastic pieces covering the colum.  I tried adjusting the pieces not realizing the wheel itself probably needs to be adjusted upward.

        I'd appreciate verbal instructions on how to do this. Remember I can't use pictures.

The steering column is adjustable up and down.  It may have for some reason drifted down or the plastic housing has come out of place.  There needs to be clearance between the bottom of the steering wheel and the top of the two pieces of the column cover.
