I'm sure this is obvious to most, but by "pounded" I don't mean using brute force. Using a press might be best? With pin in hand, it seemed it was made of fairly hard steel but maybe the end could get mushroomed if hit too hard? The pin on my dizzy came out easily. Have read of some pins being tough to remove. Given the age of these vehicles, maybe pins on some Vanagons have been slightly damaged by PO's and therefore harder to remove in some cases? Neil.
