Thanks guys for the info on my flashing problem. I have read the info on the 711T you sent plus what I can find on the web and it seems a bit hazy. Lots of info on how to put it in but nothing on how to take it out so I shall have to persevere. I have found a remote that needs a new battery so maybe I can make it work properly and I have also found a "valet switch". I will first get the van to where I can get the engine systems all operative and then I will deal with this gadget. I don't need a locking gadget where I live so eventually I will find out how to take it out completely. The manual seems simple enough but some things have alluded me so far and its really not the kind of thing I like to monkey with. Thanks again, Steve

It turned out to be a black box hanging behind the cruise control canister. It was written on it "Valet 711T" and I believe it to be an aftermarket power lock controller. I unplugged it and I immediately had the engine starter to work with the key. > > http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/og/valet/711T.pdf > > Yrs, > d
