By mistake one of my friend filled Power steering fluid into the reservoir instead ATF. Now he has them mixed in there. The question is; is it ok to have them mixed? Zoltan

About AT fluid - what do people use? Ours is running on Mobil 1, as per Frank Condelli's advice, but one of my colleagues in the auto shop school at the College where I teach suggested to me the other day that, as VW originally specified Dexron III in their ATs, we might consider the current Dexron VI. Apparently it's all synthetic, like Mobil 1, but he says that in GM transmissions from the era of our Vanagons the Dexron VI shows considerable improvement over the Dexron III, especially in the cold and in very hot situations - and since it's meant for trannies that used Dexron III, it may be more specific to the needs of the AT than Mobil 1 (which in theory replaces Dexron III and Type F, even though those two fluids are not the same).

I see Bob uses Redline - anybody else using that? Anyone tried Dexron VI?
