To totally violate my own lazy-day policy, I decided to trudge all the way out to the van and have a look-see at the #18 X-relay. Sure enough, it showed signs of corrosion, no doubt from my other lazy project, which was deferring the replacement of the windshield seal. That's the lazy gift that keeps on giving. Popped in a similar relay from an Audi and voila! I have a fully functioning electrical system again. Let that be a lesson kids. Don't be like me.
