The same type cables are used in light and medium duty aircraft. A wire encased by a spiraling wire that serves as the sheath. One problem in aircraft that sit outside, or vehicles or boats with the same type cable is moisture forming on the inside. We took some Kroil (creeping oil) that will work its way inside the cable to free them up.
