No, I don't know anything about tape for that application. As Larry has suggested, I've used Gorilla tape for lotsa things and it's pretty weather/element resistant, and VERY robust and sticky.

What I do use for anti corrosive protection on my front Bilstein coil over shocks is this: http://www.corrosionx.com/marine.html It's excellent, does not come off due to normal vehicle use, even when using the car wash power wand under the van. It will come off if you use something like charcoal lighter fluid or other to clean it off, and that's when it's easy to see how effectively it protects from anticorrosion.
