Howdy folks. I'm doing a bit of prepwork for a new version of my instrument cluster rewire. Does anyone know what the spec resistor and diode values are for the instrument cluster in a 88-91 Vanagon? Bentley lists the values for 80-84 models, but is silent on 85 and up models (which I know includes 2 instrument cluster versions, and possibly more foil variants). Here is what I can tell by looking at my own van, listing the components as Bentley does, from top to bottom: R1: resistor for high beam indicator (K1), 100Ω ±5% R2: resistor for voltage stabilizer (J6), 22Ω ±20% D1: diode between blinker indicator and ground, ??value R3: resistor for blinker indicator (K5), 470Ω ±5% D2: diode for alternator warning light (K2), ??value R4: resistor for alternator warning light (K2), 120Ω ±5% R5: resistor for alternator warning light (K2), 470Ω ±5% R6: resistor for alternator warning light (K2), 120Ω ±5% There is also a diode (I think that's what it is) on the foil between the coolant temp guage and the ground. There's a picture of it on my previous wireup here: http://www.kpcnsk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/IMG_1853.jpg It is the blue diode 4th from the top. Specs on this? Thanks for your help. I'm doing some more detailed write-up of my procedure this time around and will share it as things come to fruition.
