I ain't no realtor, but this is what I say in terms of real estate. (area dependent ;) ) "everything sells for a price".

In terms of Craigs List, ya. There are some incredibly grumpy people (aka trolls) that have nothing better to do than crap on someone's parade. This happened a couple of times to me. 'price is too high' 'your high' (their spelling) ..... etc. But then these are likely the same type of people that were more than happy to pick up things I listed for free and likely sell them! ;)

No harm in starting high. If people don't like it, tough. Like my '81 Westy is no prize to look at, and is somewhat unorthodox, but it's proven to be reliable and there's lots of "little things" that have been addressed or replaced. All in the eyes of the beholder eh?
