Subject: Power Steering reservoir filter question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi listers,

In mid October I dropped off my Vanagon for a maintenance visit. I'm getting it back tomorrow. Thanks to Dennis Haynes and a few others I had quite a list of things I wanted done. I told the mechanic to take his time as I would not use the bus in the winter. I won't say that next year as I wanted it back before the snow settled in!

Anyway he told me he could not change the Power steering fluid filter because it would not come out of the reservoir. He was afraid to try too hard in case the reservoir might break.

Can someone describe how this filter is removed.

And, should I replace it now that the fluids have already been changed?
