Vanagon List is not the best place to look for help with inline VW motors. On here, not many know or care about them as a Vanagon transplant alternative. There's a few, but mostly you'll get "downer comments" and opinions that inline vw motors aren't worthy and will cost the same as a Subaru or Ford to stick into a Vanagon.

I suggest your area Craig's List. I almost always find them in the Northwest, very common, very cheap. $300 is the most I would ever give for a decent ABA motor. VW Vortex is a web Forum with lots of inline classifieds and info on the vw sedans. Yahoo group for Vanagon Inline, too. I'm on an Android and I don't know how to Link that, but we're kinder and gentler over there. Tucson and Phoenix should have a few Jettas listed...
