That sonofhibachi is pretty cool as is the Pyromid and its replacement. Here's the one I use, which has its advantages and disadvantages. It doesn't fold flat, but makes up for a lot of its space in the versatility of the cooking surfaces and how little fuel it consumes (was named "Invention of the year about 2001" as a way for African cooks to burn corn cobs, hence the name):

I can't provide a link to a really good website anymore as the South African company ceased business in the US about a month ago. Now the price is creeping up and the accessories are becoming difficult to find.

It's a shame, though, as this has been an extension of my westy kitchen for almost ten years. When the last thing you want is to heat up the interior cooking dinner, it's time to break out the cobb. It uses so little charcoal that it can carry enough inside it for almost a week of cooking. I have a skillet for it which serves as a back pan. I can make cornbread etc on the road, and have baked cookies in it at when the power was out for a week a couple of years back. It can be carried anywhere and moved if needed because the sides are cool to the touch. It uses so little fuel that you can safely use it indoors, which we do often at gatherings in cold weather. I do not use it inside the westy without the door being open, though It is 12 inches in diameter but has a deep moat around the central fire pit under the grill that you can load up with stuff so it cooks an enormous amount of food for its size. It's all stainless.

I have a perforated plate top, the skillet, and a wire rack for chickens and such that swap out for different cooking styles. I am looking for a griddle if anyone knows where to get one.

Jim
