My size decision is between 205/75/15 or 215/75/15 depending on the ability to still fit in clamshell without modification or just minor modification. Will the 215 fit? Thanks!! Velma 82 1.9L AAZ td westy

On my '87 Syncro Westy, I put 16" Michelin tires on that were 6+" wide at the tread, and 28" diameter. I had to cut the rear of the clam shell and use a couple fence gate hinges that I modified to lower the rear edge of the shell by about 2". Missing from these photo's is the bolt/ nut hardware I used to mount it to the hinges on the van.

The mod allowed more room plus made it possible to shove the spare over to miss the steering rod so there was no rubbing.
