They do as long as you have the correct weight oil for the temperature you are operating in. I used to drive my Sunroof model Syncro daily and it was parked outside in the cold in -20F to -30F, something about the wife feeling her car should be in the garage and there being no room for mine. I did have an engine block heater and ran lighter weight synthetic oil for the winter months. The transport company we used one year to ship our Westy Syncro outside in preparation for a month long road trip made the mistake, even though I had warned them, of starting it at -30F with out warming it up first while it had 20W50 synthetic oil in it. Blew the oil cooler o-ring out instantly, they had to load it that way and Daryl at AaTransaxle had the fun of fixing it upon its arrival at his place for storage until we arrived to pick it up.
