generally .stock rectangular 86 and up head lights don't work that well actuallly .. high beams are pretty great .. but low beams ..I have at least 4 rectagular headlight vanagons... if I worked on my daily driver one enough I could get to decent low beam light patterns eventually.

the adjusting screw gizmo's break... the reflelctors inside the housing corrode ... and brightness , stock, is not all that great.

for Just Great round headlights...just get Bus Depots euro headlights.. screw right into a single round headlamp vanagon .. They are fantastic ..especially for the reasonable cost and mininal effort to get them into a round head light vanagon. Very bright, real good light patterns.. highly recommended.

or ..if converting from rectangular back to round ..you need the round light headlight buckets.. and a round headlight grill.... and those are medium rare to me, many of them being broken or sun-deteriorated and brittle etc.

it's deceptive ..how easily an 82 or early van can be made to look like a later one just by putting in the later rec tabular headlights and grill. Scott

happy new year all !

I think I would stick with the round lights. But that is just a preference for me. The van looks straight.
