You look at your Bentley manual on a regular basis, right John ?
I sure hope so ..
I know these vans very well and I look at that book all the time.
you can see the coil wiring and terminals and tach wire in the wiring
diagrams if you look carefully.
the green tach wire can only go to the 1 terminal.
you don't want it on the 15 terminal at all.
I've seen wire connectors get pushed back out of position in a plastic
connector block ..
you can have two pieces of metal that are conductors touching each other..
but electrical constact isn't happening.
heck .no kidding ..my life involves a constant battle against poor
electrical contact...
on 110AC house stuff..
on car stuff...on computer stuff..
no joking ..up to 50 times a week at least....I'm fighting poor
connections ..often on old stuff sure ..
and ...I have so many electrical connections burning out or not making
contact it's just silly.
Perhaps that's why I got that fine 110VAC oil heater out of a
dumpster...built to be tossed when it fails...
had to break plastic covers off to get at the guts of it ..
sure enough ..overheated wire connector on the thermostatic switch in it
..*another* thing to fix ..
but hey...it was free and that comes with the territory and only took a
little while to get working again.
