Did anyone ever THINK of taking the speedo out and lubing something say ? that's the first thing I'd do.

I fix So Many vanagon issues JUST with cleaning, inspecting, lubing , adjusting .. like as many at 60 to 70 % of all the vanagon issuse I address, and fix, ... it's not 'a new part' ..it's not rebuilding something....it's just inspecting, cleaning, resetting, adjusting etc. etc.

why would someone start pricing rebuilds when they haven't even LOOKED at the thing ?????

This is the real fix: www.overseas-spedometer.com. About $85 plus shipping, and I'll get the 10% over speed error adjusted too. > > Stuart > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of dhanson928@gmail.com > Sent: Monday, January 13, 2014 7:33 AM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Speedo needle sits still sometimes > > > I've got an 84 Vanagon with a fairly recent Speedo cable. I've had the Speedo needle not move till I knock the face of the pod a few times, more frequently lately. Is there a known fix for this "loose needle" syndrome? > Sent from my HTC smartphone on the Now Network from Sprint! >
