For me, sending the speedo out if for no other reason than to get it to read more accurately (I have an '84 that reads stupidly high, by design*) would be worth it. Can't null that out by lubing nor, as someone is always happy to suggest, bending the pointer since the error is a fixed one + a percentage.

BTW, has anyone gotten Stuart's link to work? Neither <www.overseas-spedometer.com> [sic] nor <www.overseas-speedometer.com> connect up.

============= * See Bentley 90.30, mine is clearly the European calibration version of the 1984 vans, which reads high by 6.2 mph + 5%. When I'm going 50, the thing reads 59 mph. This determined by comparing speedo readings vs GPS readings. The odometer is always dead-on so it's not a tire size issue.
