Hmmm ...... . I'm surprised one can get a loan for any vehicle that old, mileage or no. Obviously, I don't know this person's financial situation, but if I could only buy a VW camper by borrowing for it, I would not do it. Money for maintenance has to come from somewhere, and more maintenance is required than for a more modern vehicle.

Don't banks require full coverage insurance? It is hard to get insurance that will actually pay back what it costs to buy or replace a VW camper. People have tried "Declared Value" insurance, which is a rip, and "Agreed Value" insurance, which is more expensive and places limitations on the use of the vehicle.

Good luck to him though.
