If I ever get the chance to travel like I hope to someday I'd seriously consider installing the Small Car system: http://www.smallcar.com/index.php?dispatch=pages.view&page_id=62  The only problem with it is it only recirculates interior air.  I live nearby, but I'm hoping they will develop a DIY kit.  My odds of winning the lottery are low.

Well, I often drive through brutal heat, but arrive at a much cooler sometimes quite cool) destination.  Yes, the reason to have the vehicle is the destinations one visits.  It is often very hot between here and there, and sometimes takes multiple days to get there.
