the actual dimensions of tires of the same size vary widely of course.

and two 185 R14C's from the same manufacturer ..same model tire.. just one being 6PR ( C load rating ) and the other being 8PR ..those sure better be very, very close in dimension.

if getting that 'detailed' ..then tire pressure would have to be taken into account too.

mainly it's about load rating and stiffness. Just look at the max load for single tire..and the psi . a D tire might be about 1,800 lbs max load single at 65 psi cold. those are stiff tires, much too stiff to run in the front IMO.

and never let the tire tell you what pressure to run. ( that max figure is just that ..'max tire pressure measured cold.' ) Go by the tire sticker.. then by ride and handling - 'tune' the ride and handling compromise with the tire pressures ....both 'how much' and especially by the difference between front and rear tire pressures. More in back, always. generally ..you will see in owners manuals ...high loads and higher speeds ..use higher tire pressures.
