I know of one lister on thesamba Vanagon forum that did. He'd
installed a 1.8 8V inline into his Vanagon. Part of what I was trying
to suggest is that there can be several reasons behind how-why someone
chooses a given engine management system over another.  Personally I
just installed what c/w the engine I put in. If my Vanagon were
equipped with Digifant to begin with, I very likely would've used
Digifant.
