The same tire size from different manufactures can vary quite a bit. In
these sizes it is becoming rare for a manufacturer to offer the same tire
model in both the load range "C" or "D". For those that do it is possible
they are the same identical tire with a different stamp. Measure the
sidewall thickness and weigh the tires?

Would 185R14C 6PR and 185R14C 8PR be different diameters?  Usually 185R14
tires are all the same outside diameter, aren't they?  I thought the 6PR and
8PR only referred to the internal construction.

Not questioning your wisdom, just want to better understand tire placarding.
