After further review I see where I made my mistake. I somehow only saw the price for the 80% kit. And not the gearing needed. Those are in the ~$900 for the transmission I previously mentioned. So I digress.

So what is the damage $$ for a peloquin on a vanagon?

I know that these are not terribly expensive ~$150 for vw 020 type trannies.

Check this resource: http://www.weddleindustries.com/products/new-products/new-vw-094-atb-locking-differentials

Also German Transaxle in Bend, OR NOT $150.00 bob
