If your other family cars are four and five passenger cars as mine are, and you have grandkids that like to go places, the middle seat in a westy would get a lot more use. I use mine not a lot, but it is really necessary four of five times a year plus camping. Sometimes, camping, the seat comes out and makes an outdoor bench. On holidays, even around town visiting relatives etc with the grandkids, we take the camper because it is the only thing we have that will hold six people and their stuff.

However, if my "new" 82 diesel GL pans out, my westy's days as a people hauler, at least locally, may be over.
