The tabs on both my vehicles, my Westy and my daily driver, a '90 T-Bird LX, expire today. And both needed emission testing (for the last time) before the tabs could be renewed. I took care of the Westy last week but had put off the T-Bird. Long overdue for an oil change I decided to get the oil changed before testing. I had a > $10 off coupon for the Grease Monkey here in Lynnwood so off I go. Pulled in and no line, no wait. And I was really impressed with the service and the people there. They even knew how to reset the 'Oil Change' warning on the electronic dash. Didn't expect that on a 20+ year old car. So off to drive it some to get it fully warmed up and little traffic. Stopped for one errand and no line, no waiting there either. But I'd waited till the end of the month, I knew I'd end up in a long line at the emission testing station. Wrong! Drove right in, no line! Test went fine, passed as usual. > So off to the little place at the local Fred Meyer to pay for the tabs on both vehicles. Damn, there is a parking place right by the door. So in I go, again expecting a long line of others that had waited till the end of the month to renew. Surprise, only two people ahead of me, maybe two minute wait. Paid the steep fees for both cars and paid for my Washington State Discover pass. Then on to the local Arby's to take advantage of another coupon offer and again no line, no waiting. And I love the local Arby's. A smile and cheerful greeting as I came through the door, quick competent service. Like I said to start with, some days just go right. Now if it just goes right for the Seahawks on Sunday it will have been a good week.
