No kidding. This is why the Vanagon "wiring bypass tool" was created. By using it you may possibly avoid endless and fruitless parts swapping when you have a Vanagon that cranks fine but won't start. The starter motor main power stud is a critical power wiring junction point. Any time the starter is messed with by someone there is a chance that this critical power junction is damaged or left loose. This can let the starter crank great but prevent the engine from starting. Then instead of looking where they just worked to see what they may have done wrong they go off and chase wild geese. Mark
