Yes the Eurovan Automatics are known for problems. That doesn't mean the manuals are bullet proof. VW especially knows the light duty ability of those manual boxes. The manuals have 1/2 the tow rating of the automatics.

127k & the 'manual' tranny is at the end of it's time? I thought the EV 'auto' trannys were the problem with EVs? If we were talking about a '73 air cooled engine I could see 127k being a lot. Did I miss something in this thread?
