it couldn't be a syncro .. without extreme totally custom fabrication . Have you looked under a big truck with dual driven rear axles ?

I think that would be super hard to do on a 2WD vanagon and really really hard on a syncro.

It would be extremely difficult to get a syncro that low in the front too. the front axles have to go through the front suspension .. it would be very difficult to do, get the front that low.
