Hi all. A lister on thesamba prompted me to look into an issue with my intermittent wiper function. On my '81, I installed a 99 relay into the stock wiper relay position. It worked fine but recently became intermittent. Relay was properly mounted in the OEM fuse block. I'm about 100% certain that cracked solder joints is the issue. Wiggling the "I" pin, I see movement at the solder joint. I'm hoping that reheating these joints will save the relay. Or will we start seeing 99 relays on eBay for $100 ? EG. ;) Neil. -- Neil n Blog: tubaneil.blogspot.ca '88 Westy http://tinyurl.com/c8rlw6p '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ Vanagon VAG *Gas* inline-VR Engine Swap Group: |
