I spent some years (13) in the upper mid-west and ice was a part of life in the winter. The scraper always worked. Sometimes it needed elbow grease. I got tired of it and moved... I hear that San Diego has darn few ice scraping days! You might ask around and see if you know anyone who used to live there and you could ask... Just a thought...
