I agree with Dennis, these very, very rarely fail because they are in the air stream and are being cooled by the fan every time it is on. I bought one for a customer several years ago who found out it wasn't bad after everything was apart. It sat here for at least five or six years on the shelf before another person thought they needed one and I sold it.
