My question in all this is - how does one best fix this when a chunk of the metal is missing. My van rusted through right under the pedal - but the two points where the pop-rivets were is still there - and I temporarily fixed that. But the hole under the pedal extends into the tunnel next to it. So that means bending a piece of metal into a sort of "L" shape and then pound it with a hammer and shaping tools to form it to the contours of the floor - not an easy task. Applying the epoxy bond would be the easy part. I'm open to ideas. Thanks, John On 2/7/2014 9:34 PM, Jim Arnott wrote: > The pedal came loose at the floor. ETKA shows pop rivets as the attaching fasteners. Can anyone verify this? (Pop rivets will make fixing it MUCH easier, but if they’re threaded fasteners, I’ll have to come up with a better failed fastener removal strategy than a punch and a BFH.) > > Does anyone have hands on experience?
