For the alternator light it is important to indicate whether or not it is a Westy or weekender with the fridge package. The added relay is triggered off the alternator light circuit. As such the light will remain on if the blue wire to the alternator becomes disconnected or the alternator internals fail open.

First thing to do is confirm if the alternator is charging or not. Best way is with voltmeter. If you are familiar with your vehicle you can hear whether the alternator "tuned on" or not. No whine, no power. If not, then make sure the blue wire is connected to the alternator. The light circuit also tells the alternator to turn on, (activates it). If still no go may just be worn brushes. Yes you can change the brushes or the regulator but worn brushes are usually accompanied by other worn parts. Lately I have had a streak of good luck with $79 AutoZone specials.

I looked. Belt looks fine.

One item to note: This *appears* to have started happening after a sudden break/skid.

Last time this showed up, the small blue wire was disconnected from the alternator. Seems fine right now.
