Does anybody remember from a few years back the VW promotional video of their extremely high-MPG car that has two seats like a Messerscmidt, one in front of the other? To reduce drag, it did not use rear view mirrors. It used tiny rear-facing cameras each side showing on a screen in front of the driver. The dead horse of how much top end speed would be gained by taking the mirrors off a vanagon has been whipped many times, but hey, while you are at it with one rear view mirror, you might as well make it two.
