Art,

Having owned my 84 Westy since 1987, I truly value the skills of a "Vanagon Mechanic" artist!!!

The time you spend driving, will surely be saved in repeat repairs and throwing part after part on the problem. You are lucky to have a highly recommended skilled mechanic so close.

Best of luck with your Vanagon!!! They grow on you and are starting to grow in value.

One big word of caution, which has been posted all over the list.... make sure you change your fuel lines if that hasn't been done in the past. Those lines do not hold up well for 25 years, and leaks lead to fire rather quickly.

Wishing you the best and many more miles down the road of Vanagon life!

Like to my Westy above.

Thank you for the warm welcome folks. Ill check out your photo and take a look at the part. I will look into the mechanic unfortunately its about a 45 min drive for me. (I am in very south seattle).

Good to know. Yep Im looking into it before I pass the name around, could be my misunderstanding and I would not want to accuse someone wrongly. Particularly since they are so close to me.

and as a bonus I have apparently figured out how to ask you smart folks questions! (I assume if I did something wrong someone would speak up)

Thanks again.
