Different people are good at different things. It's often not always automotive or even mechanical. 

A couple of years ago, I was chatting with a fellow who bought a Syncro Westy from the outfit in Los Osos. He paid in the high $80K's for the camper and spent more to bring the price up to just the low six figures. I asked why he would spend such an exorbitant amount on such a rig. His response was matter-of-factly, (paraphrasing) "They have me something I could never build but I could easily afford.". When I asked him what he did for work, he said he was a plastic surgeon.

Now how many of you even know how to make that first incision? Or
How surgical tape is often what is needed to close a cut so noticeable scar is left? To this fellow and his cohorts, any noon plastic surgeon should know such basics. I sure as heck don't. The first time I saw my cousin remove a blemish on his wife's forehead in the middle of family gathering, I thought it was a parlor trick.
