I don't recall the controls when I drove the van, but I suspect Russ brought back the controls from a trip to SA.

I've looked at the golf jetty controls when at the wreckers. If I recall correctly, the golf controls were short one wire actuator, but I might be wrong. The rotary mechanism is clever and probably could be made to work in a van.

I was keen about that when I be the '82 westy as it's controls were stiff. My '86 syncro controls are smooth and work well so the desire to fill with them has passed.
