Dunno where you might find them - but verier controls would be nice. For fine adjustment just turn the knob. For course adjustment - push the button in the center to unlock the vernier - then just push or pull the knob in or out for gross changes. This type of thing is used on small airplanes for throttle and propeller control. Why not heater controls?
