Karl The number before the "W", be it 0,5,10,15,20 or whatever, has Little to No effect on the how the Internals of a Warm Engine Wear, it is the Number After the "W" that comes into play in a Warm Engine or in a Warm Climate ~ I live in a WarmClimate & have always run 5W40 in my H2OBoxers & have never had it cause any issues. Most of the ReallyDestructineWear that occurs in an Eng' happens during WarmUp so using an Oil with a LowerNumber Before the "W" will cause MuchLessWear on an Eng' over the LongHaul due Largely to the fact that that Thinner ColdOil can get into the TightSpots MuchEasier&Quicker ~ ORR ~ DeanB On 25 Feb , 2014, at 4:38 PM, Karl Wolz wrote: > Possibly at the cost of a blown engine if in a warm climate! > > Karl Wolz > Sent from my electronic umbilicus > >> On Feb 25, 2014, at 3:57 PM, OlRivrRat <OlRivrRat@COMCAST.NET> wrote: >> >> If you Switch to a 10 or 5 or even 0W** Oil that ColdLifterSyndrome will most probably be diminished or >> >> may even go away completely ~ |
